East of Bobcaygeon lays Pigeon Lake, one of five inter-connected lakes on the Trent-Severn Waterway. The Bald Lakes, Buckhorn Lake, and Lake Chemung along with Pigeon Lake are accessible lock free and combined, form the second largest body of water on the Trent System. Pigeon Lake is a long, narrow lake with north-south axis: it is 17 miles long, averaging between 1 and 2 miles wide, 123 km of shore-line and an average depth of 3 meters.
Port 32, Victoria Place and Lake View Estates are few of the waterfront communities located on Pigeon Lake which offer the advantages of waterfront living, without the price of waterfront homes.
Pigeon Lake is fed by Nogies Creek from the north, Sturgeon Lake to the west, and the Pigeon River to the south, as well as the Bald Lake chain to the north-east.
Pigeon Lake is a popular fishing destination, known for its large-mouth and small-mouth bass, walleye, and muskie and is host to numerous fishing tournaments throughout the summer and ice fishing in the winter.
On the west shore, on the Pigeon Lake Road ( Kawartha Lakes rd. 17), the Gaming Nature Centre operates a 100-acre property with a natural shoreline, surrounded by wetlands, forests and meadows. They offer walking trails, day camps, work-shops and guest speakers visit their website to learn more.
Whether you enjoy fishing, boating or just relaxing by the water, Pigeon Lake has something for everyone.
